General Description
The Carpenter/Form Carpenter will build, frame, locate, place, erect, install, and repair structures, forms and other arrangements made from wood, plastics, fiberglass, drywall, concrete, metal and other materials as needed, as well as locate, tie, place, position, space concrete reinforcing steel to support various types of construction and concrete construction projects.

Our goal for this position is for the candidate to work in the carpenter/form carpenter position for several years (based on experience level) gaining valuable field experience, developing into a Carpentry Foreman position, and then into an Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Will work as assigned by project superintendent & foreman, as well as work closely with laborers, subcontractors, helpers and other skilled and semi-skilled craft workers.
- Quantify, measure, mark, and arrange materials to establish layout based on instructions from supervisor, construction drawings, diagrams, sketches and/or specifications for correct installations/modifications.
- Cut, saw, modify, repurpose, and strip structures of wood, plastics, fiberglass, drywall, concrete, metal and other materials as needed.
- Use of various hand and power tools to build assigned projects including but not limited to hammers, saws, levels, laser levels, tape measure, framing square, plumb bob, string lines, chalk lines, drills, shovels, sledgehammers, surveying instrument, floor scrapers, pry bar, and other tools associated with carpentry/form carpentry tasks.
- Operation of multiple types of equipment and machinery.
- Joins, fastens, anchors necessary materials with the most appropriate method.
- Study, interpret construction plans, diagrams, sketches, to construct respective tasks accurately.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of work by inspecting completed tasks, correcting problems as needed.
- Performs other related and assigned duties and housekeeping as assigned by supervisor.
- Understands the importance of safety in construction environments and performs all tasks in a safe manner.
- Communicates effectively with supervisors, subordinates, peers, co-workers.
Job Requirements
- Experience in construction and contracting industry.
- Must have ability to take direction and work well with others in a team environment.
- Available to work 5 or 6 days a week, 8 or 10 hour days, overtime as project requires.
- Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies, procedures, project rules; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed safely and properly.
- Must be able to meet all physical requirements including but not limited to possessing manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, sitting as the task demands.
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Possess a strong work ethic, desire to learn, and be self-driven.
